Experience
I have over 25 years teaching experience from age nine to 16. Over the last six years I have privately tutored children in key stage 2 - including Key Stage 2 SATs and 11 + - as well as key stage 3 and preparation for GCSE. I am a key stage 2 SATs marker with leadership experience taking responsibility for SATs revision and provision. I like to get to know my students and enjoy building a professional relationship with them. I make fun and games part of my lessons. It is a big part of the way children naturally learn. When I first meet the student, I find out where they are in their learning and then build an individual programme of study to move them forwards. Each student is different so a variety of different approaches is needed. I am happy to adapt my teaching style to suit the individual.Reviews from some of my students:

*Ursula has been tutoring my son since year 5 and has continued into year 6, as he has quite a few gaps in Maths and English. We sought Ursula’s help to increase his confidence in class, and to show him how to understand basic concepts so that he can transfer them to his learnings in the classroom.
