Experience
As well as being a Doctor of Education (EdD), I am a highly experienced, qualified English teacher, having taught in schools for over a decade and tutored for many years. I have taught classes ranging from phonics to A Level English Literature, and successfully supported students with a wide range of different needs, including students with a range of SEND needs and students for whom English is an additional language. I have also worked with many home educated students. I specialise in online tuition, supporting students with remote learning.I have a strong track record of GCSE results and my students have gained places at top independent schools, gone on to study at Oxbridge, pursue medical and legal careers, and hold prominent international positions. I am proud that I have also supported many students to achieve GCSE passes despite much lower predictions.
I provide rigorous academic support (supported by my work as a GCSE examiner for multiple exam boards) while also building strong relationships and nurturing students’ self-belief, which is often the biggest barrier to their success.
