Summary

I have been teaching for 30 years. For 20 years I taught in secondary schools and since then I have been a full time private tutor and have many students and families who have been with me for several years now.

Experience

I love teaching and really enjoy working with all of my students. I firmly believe that learning how a student learns is fundamental to helping deliver their lessons in a way that suits them best. I help my students to find out how they learn so that I can help them to make the most of our sessions. I also work hard to ensure that they feel relaxed and confident in their own abilities. Many of my students feel that they just can't access the topics they are learning so I help give them the confidence they need.

I cover the course content as stated in the specific exam board used to a depth that is relevant to the student's needs and capabilities. Above all I always strive to change that "I can't do it" mentality into an "I can't do it yet" state of mind. That way students are always willing to give it a go and that quickly leads on to "I can do it"! As well as the course content itself I work on exam technique, revision styles and relaxation methods to help give students a more rounded session. I also offer adult learning for maths competence and those on the QTS course.

I have a number of students who have been home tutored and have taken their Sciences and Maths solely with me. Their results have been excellent. I enjoy working with all of my students very much and am extremely proud of their achievements.

I am happy to offer a free 30 minute trial lesson so that students and parents can find out if my teaching style suits their learning style.

Marta originally began tutoring our daughter face-to face, several years ago, in preparation for her GCSE's in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Maths. We consider ourselves extremely lucky to have found her; not only is she excellent at explaining tricky science concepts, making them easy to understand and remember, but she is also very friendly and approachable. Marta's interactive lessons and topic explanations ensured that, with hard work, our daughter achieved Grade 9's in all 4 subjects. Marta is a fantastic tutor. She has really helped both my sons in Maths and Science and they both have benefited and improved enormously from her lessons, with my older son being one of a very few who could move up in his Science set following on from Marta's help.
