As a current head of English and senior examiner, I support all pupils to exceed expectations, regardless of ability - from students with significant SEND needs through to high achieving A level candidates. I design a bespoke programme of study to maximise the potential of each student.Experience
Having taught English for more than twelve years, I am currently a head of faculty in charge of communications: English language & literature, media, modern foreign languages and literacy across the curriculum. I have previously worked as whole school literacy coordinator, learning innovator and teaching mentor with many years of experience as a successful tutor of English achieving excellent outcomes. I am also a senior examiner and team leader for a leading exam board. I offer a free initial session where I will discuss and assess the needs of the tutee. I will then create a bespoke programme designed to target areas for improvement.Availability (UK time)

Claire is very friendly and patient and has really helped me to understand how to answer exam questions and a way of doing it which I can use all the time. Oliver. Claire has really helped Oliver look at exam questions so that he is not frightened or overwhelmed by them by showing him a very clear process/structure which he can then follow and use all the time to successfully answer exam questions. Claire has made it much easier for Oliver to now know exactly what he needs to do without panicking and being unsure. My lessons with Claire have helped me feel more comfortable about taking my GCSE English exams. I find her easy to talk to, she is nice, chatty and supportive and gives good advice and things to remember for your exams to help you improve your grade.
