Summary
Hi, I'm a postgraduate student at the University of Oxford, and I tutor Entrance Exams, English, and Maths from Key Stages to GCSE level. I am personable, calm, and encouraging. I establish a dialogue with guardians so that they can see clearly their child's academic and personal progressions.Qualifications
- Masters in Science in Medical Anthropology (University of Oxford)
- Bachelors of Arts in Anthropology (University of Bristol)
Experience
I have tutored professionally for more than five years, spanning subjects of English, Music, and Maths. I gained wider experience teaching SpLD students while spending a summer in Beijing, China. I have taught in different settings and class sizes and now draw upon these experiences during my 1 on 1 virtual lessons.More
I normally set up a group Whatsapp chat for communications with students' parents. This makes it easier to relay information and can often provide a accessible lesson report. I also encourage the parents/students to let me know in advance about any upcoming exams or class tests, and if there are concerns over certain problem areas, we can sometimes arrange more frequent lessons in the lead up to tests. My one-on-one tutoring is personalised to advance the student’s overall comprehension of their subject to a level beyond what their regular classroom teaching can typically offer. Through forming a trusting relationship with the student, I help to; make students comfortable with their own strengths and weaknesses, create the space for students to progress in an exploratory and comprehensive way, and provide students with an individualised learning process that feels both rewarding and applicable to their wider education.
