Experience
I have over 20 years of experience working with children, young people, and families across education, social care, mental health, and additional learning needs.Alongside tutoring, I have worked in youth homelessness services, children's rights organisations, family support, and specialist services supporting autistic children and young people with a wide range of additional needs.
As a tutor, I work with learners from primary age through to post-16, adapting sessions to suit individual learning styles, confidence levels, and goals. I have extensive experience supporting home educated learners, students who have lost confidence in education, and those who benefit from a more personalised approach than traditional classroom teaching.
My focus is always on building understanding, confidence, and independence while helping students make meaningful progress at their own pace.
More
I believe learning works best when it is tailored to the individual rather than expecting every learner to fit the same model. My sessions are designed around each student's strengths, interests, and learning preferences. I regularly support neurodivergent learners, including those with autism, ADHD, anxiety, and additional learning needs, and I understand the importance of flexibility, patience, and building trust.
Before moving into tutoring, I also worked as a librarian, which developed my passion for literacy, communication, and helping young people become confident, independent learners.
I work with students across the UK and internationally, including home educated and worldschooling families, using engaging resources, discussion-based learning, and practical strategies to make learning accessible and enjoyable.
