Experience
I hold an MSc in Chemistry and a BSc in Psychology, alongside QTS and a PGCE. Previously, I have worked in outstanding schools and colleges where I was subject specialist. My academic background allows me to combine strong subject knowledge with an understanding of how students learn, retain and apply information. I have taught students across a wide range of abilities and have helped students develop from struggling with the fundamentals to achieving significantly higher grades and progressing towards competitive university and career pathways, including Medicine, Engineering and Dentistry.More
Over the course of my career, I have taught students across a wide range of abilities and learning needs. I have also worked as a Science Lecturer at various colleges, giving me experience teaching beyond GCSE and preparing students for the demands of further education.I have supported students with different learning needs, including dyslexia, and I believe that there is no single approach to learning. I therefore tailor my lessons to each student's individual needs, strengths and goals. Whether a student is struggling with the basics, aiming to move from a Grade 5/6 towards a 7–9, or preparing for A-level examinations and competitive university courses, my aim is to make Science clearer, more manageable and more achievable.

I believe that students learn Science best when they understand the concept rather than simply memorising it. My lessons typically combine:

I break challenging concepts into manageable steps before helping students apply their knowledge to real exam questions. I also use real-life examples and scenarios to make difficult scientific ideas easier to understand and remember. Most importantly, I want students to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and developing their confidence.
