Experience

I began my career as a Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Law, and worked in that capacity for 29 years. Having taken early retirement, I began working as a Home-schooling Tutor in GCSE / IGCSE English Language and Law / A Level Law.
I am, therefore, an experienced, qualified, enthusiastic Tutor with Enhanced DBS status. I am both reliable, and determined to ensure students have a quality teaching and learning experience. I focus on their individual needs and listen to their specific requirements. Having met, we plan the material and homework in accordance with both syllabus and learning requirements.
I have worked as an Online, and Home-based Tutor with a variety of students, from Secondary to Further/ Higher and Adult Education, for the past 8 years. I cover GCSE (and IGCSE) English Language and Law, in addition to A Level Law.
I offer a free (TRAIL) session, so that we can introduce ourselves and students can feel at ease with my approach to teaching. I encourage them to raise questions as they arise, so that material is clear, as we work through each lesson. My lessons inter-active, with PowerPoint exercises short questions, quizzes and past examination questions, ensuring material is varied and relevant.
As lessons progress, we work towards exam technique, providing students with confidence and the necessary practice, to remove stress they may otherwise experience.
In short, my approach is to make learning an enjoyable and fulfilling experience. Lesson content is sent to students following every session, along with homework, for completion by the following week. We work through homework answers and clarify any questions at the following lesson.
